Garlic Croutons
Ingredients:
1/2 cup virgin olive oil
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
6 slices wheat bread, thinly sliced
4 tablespoons Romano cheese, grated
1.) Preheat oven to 350o F.
2.) Mix the garlic and oil in a glass measuring cup. Using a pastry brush, brush both sides of the bread with the mixture.
3.) With a serrated knife cur the bread into strips, and then cut into cubes. Place the bread crumbs on a parchment -lined cookie sheet.
4.) Bake for 15 minutes until brown and crunchy. Turn off the oven, sprinkle the cubes with the cheese and toss. Leave in the oven for another 10 minutes. Store in a plastic bag at room temperature for up to one week.
